Skokie Park District Partners with Realgy Energy and Love Energy & Construction to Install a Large Solar System

Skokie, IL – The Skokie Park District is proud to announce a partnership with Realgy Energy Services and Love Energy & Construction to install a 250,000-watt solar system at the Weber Rec Center. This no-cost project is the first phase of a larger 500,000-watt initiative to benefit the community and the environment.

Under a 24-year lease/contract, the Skokie Park District will receive clean, renewable energy at a guaranteed low price. This innovative partnership allows the Park District to avoid delivery costs and reduce their energy costs by up to 15%. Additionally, the solar system will help lower the Park District’s carbon footprint, supporting its commitment to sustainability.

Realgy Energy Services is underwriting the project and taking advantage of incentives that are unavailable to the Park District. This allows them to invest in the solar system while securing a long-term commercial customer for the energy they sell. Love Energy & Construction is designing, building, and providing ongoing maintenance for the system.

The company plans to partner with 10-15 for-profit and non-profit organizations in the next two years to build approximately 4.5 million watts of new solar projects in the Chicago area.
